spring onions (a.k.a. scallions or salad onions)
1 lb -
frozen peas
½ pint -
water
1 teaspoon -
lemon juice
1 teaspoon -
sugar
2 oz -
butter
directions
Shred the lettuce leaves and slice the spring onions. Put all the ingredients except the butter into a saucepan. Bring to the boil, then cover and simmer gently for 5-6 minutes. Drain well using a colander and place in a serving dish. Cut or break the butter into small pieces and place on top to melt into the peas. Serve immediately.
