Ingredients
1 lb - 
ripe pears
1 tablespoon - 
sugar
2 tablespoons - 
water
Directions
- Peel the pears, cut into quarters and remove the cores. Put the water, sugar and pears in a pan and cook on a moderate heat for about 25 minutes, turning the pears gently from time to time to cook evenly. Serve hot or cold.
