PLEASE NOTE: This recipe calls for the GRILLING or BROILING of food. In most countries of the world, the term "grilling" refers to heat coming from above the food source. Significantly, in North America, it signifies heat from below the food (such as barbecuing). In the United States and Canada, when the heat source for grilling comes from above, grilling is termed broiling, and the pan that holds the food is usually called a broiler pan.
How to Cook English Breakfast Crumpet Burger
- Pop four English Crumpets into your toaster on what ever settings you prefer. I personally like mine crunchy. Once done, add lashings of butter to each and set aside.
- Either remove the skin from 4 of your favourite pork sausages to recuperate the meat, or purchase raw sausage meat. Roll this out to create 2 circular patties about the same size as the crumpets. Season with salt, pepper (and, optionally, all a little chopped parsley to garnish)
- Fry the pork patties in a little duck fat or oil for around 3 minutes each side. Once cooked top them with grated Cheddar and set aside.
- Using the same pan add eight rashers of good back bacon. When cooked, set to one side and use the same pan to cook two large eggs.
- While the eggs are cooking place your pork sausage patties under a preheated grill to get the cheese bubbling and golden brown.
- Now start with a crumpet. Add two rashers of bacon, the pork sausage pattie with its melted cheese, then two more bacon rashers, followed by the egg.
- Burst the egg yolk so it runs through the crumpet burger. Top off your creation with the second crumpet and enjoy. It's messy, it's delicious, it's amazing,

October 27 2023 I had to try this the moment I saw it. My growing family just drool over big breakfasts at the weekend and I needed something unusual to fill them up before they charged out of the house.
