Graham's Apple Delight Recipe

Graham's Apple Delight

Graham

Recipe by

Graham's Apple Delight is my very own method of serving apples with a difference! Maybe it's the rum that makes the difference, maybe it's serving it at the table in a shiny copper pan. Whatever it is, it seems to be a very simple recipe that is well accepted by our guests.

How to Cook Graham's Apple Delight

  1. Peel and core the apples, cut them into thin slices about ¼" (5mm) thick. Melt the butter in a large frying pan and add the apples. Cook these over a medium heat, turning until they are golden brown on both sides (about 5 minutes). When cooked, sprinkle them with the sugar and squeeze the juice of half a lemon over them. Add the rum and allow it to heat for about 15-20 seconds then ignite it with a naked flame. While the rum burns, agitate the pan so that all the apples benefit from the flavour, then serve immediately.

Graham GRAHAM'S HOT TIP:
For a really professional service, use a nice clean pan and bring it to the table while the rum is flaming. Serve the apple direct from the pan.
