Yeah, I know that for most of you, grilling a bit of bacon poses no problems, but spare a thought for Cousin Vinny who has never had to do it before, and has only just discovered that bacon doesn't come ready-cooked.

If you feel that it's really too easy to have a recipe for grilled (broiled) bacon, please read my introduction. There, I say that the only assumptions I have made about you, the visitor to NeedaRecipe.com, is that you know what an egg is, and that you can tell the difference between the sharp end of a knife and the blunt end! Because of this, you may find some of the recipes a little elementary. If this is the case, don't worry because it means that you have a head start on some of your fellow site visitors. Even visitors who have some basic culinary skills will find that this site contains plenty of useful ideas and short cuts that they have not come across before.

PLEASE NOTE: This recipe calls for the GRILLING or BROILING of food. In most countries of the world, the term "grilling" refers to heat coming from above the food source. Significantly, in North America, it signifies heat from below the food (such as barbecuing). In the United States and Canada, when the heat source for grilling comes from above, grilling is termed broiling, and the pan that holds the food is usually called a broiler pan.

How to Cook Grilled Bacon (Broiled Bacon)

  1. Preheat the grill (broiler). Lay the bacon rashers (slices) flat on the grill pan (broiler pan). Cook on high heat for three to four minutes, turning once. If you like your bacon crisp, cook for a few minutes longer.
  2. Whether you are cooking bacon as part of a whole meal or whether you plan to just stap a few rashers between slices of bread, it's a food that is easy to cook and cheap.

Graham GRAHAM'S HOT TIP:
You will find that back bacon has a tendency to curl when grilled. To prevent this, snip the fat several times with a pair of scissors. The cut should go from the outside edge, towards the meat.

Rating 5 out of 5 - Many cooks will make this recipe again March 13 2015
It's nice to see a recipe site including all the basics like this one (I notice you've got fried eggs and sausages and tomatoes as well). While most of us were lucky enough to be able to spend time with our parents in the kitchen and learn basic cooking from them, many others have not been so lucky, so well done Needarecipe.com for being all-inclusive.
