Another simple recipe that is ideal for using up left-over Creamed Potatoes. If you have no left-overs available make a small quantity so you can enjoy this great recipe. And if you have difficulty getting hold of sausage meat (pork mince) just buy a few sausages and remove the skins! A fusion of potato, cheese and sausage meat is always a winner in our house

8 oz
sausage meat (pork mince)
1
large onion
1 small bowl
creamed potatoes (mashed potatoes)
2 oz
grated Cheddar cheese

salt and pepper

How to Cook Sausage Meat Bake

  1. Peel and chop the onion and fry gently until it becomes limp. Take a shallow baking dish about 8" x 5" (20cm x 12.5cm) and grease well with butter. Press the sausage meat into the bottom of the dish then cover with the cooked onion. Top this with the mashed potato and sprinkle the grated cheese on top. Bake for 30 minutes in a preheated moderate oven (Mk 5 - 375ºF - 190ºC). Serve hot either on its own or with a few fresh greens.

Graham GRAHAM'S HOT TIP:
If you like the idea of a crispy topping, add a little more cheese topping and grill until the cheese turns golden brown
